Eliav Levine, a Jewish Believer in Yeshua (Jesus), who lives in Beit She’an in the Northern part of Israel near the Sea of Galilee had his car torched by religious Israeli extremists who are opposed to his faith in Yeshua.
The positive side of this story is that his car was parked next to the city’s police station in the town of Beit She’an, just south of Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee.
Two suspects were caught by the police, and the police are aware that there is tension in the area because Jewish Believers are opening sharing their faith, and of course there is always persecution when sharing one’s faith here in Israel.
Eliav is a Russian Jewish immigrant to Israel, and he and his family have endured continued verbal abuse, physical threats, and harassment from some extremist Orthodox (religious) Jews in Beit She’an.
In the city where you live, it’s probably unlikely that someone would torch your car because of your faith in Yeshua (Jesus), but this is what can happen to us Believers in Yeshua, here in Israel.
Last year Eliav had another car torched outside of his home which was parked under his children’s bedroom. The fire was extinguished but it caused a lot of damage to his home and his children aged four and six are very scared. The family sometimes fears for their lives.
An Orthodox Jew has gone around the city of Beit She'an with a car with loud speakers on it, warning the residents about Eliav and his family and to run them out of the city. Can you imagine what his children have to endure?
A number of Messianic Congregations have had been set on fire, Israeli Believers have been fired from their jobs, people have been beaten up for their faith, homes vandalized, and the list goes on, so please pray for the Believers here in the Holy Land and at this time especially for Eliav and his family.
